Oldie, but Goodie
Dad is doing really good in the healing process and with his physical therapy. He may be old, but he's determined to do good and come home. Sometimes it's the determination that really helps one to heal.
We're going to put up a couple of handrails at my brother's house to give a little extra support for the four steps. I told dad that we're making him a pillow suit that he has to wear everytime the he goes in and out the door.

Dad's getting up and down really good. Presently, he's walking with a walker and has a little limp. We found out yesterday that he'll get to come home on August 7th. Cool!
The Buzz
I asked Matt to cut my hair since Josh wasn't available. Josh and I have been cutting each others hair for many months now. Matt reluctantly agreed. I wanted the usual "military cut" with the top being around 3/8" long and the sides around 1/8" long. I could tell that Matt was a little shakey when starting to cut, so I asked him what was wrong. He said that he was nervous about cutting my hair. I told him that it was only hair and that IF he messed up, it would grow back.
An hour later, the top was buzzed and the sides were, well, no hair there. Since it was so short, I shaved the sides. LoL! Anyway, when Matt was done the first time, it looked pretty good in the mirror. But when I used two mirrors, I could see the crookedness. That's cool, a little more trimming and it will be fine. A little while later and both sides were straight, except one side was a little higher than the other. We continued on with the haircut and I had a little mohawk. We went for the buzz!
The moral of the story: Don't have Matt do a tattoo!
The Perfect Storm
My internet has been down for several days due to the storms that we have had. Most of the time, I just shut down the computers so that nothing happened during all the electrical activity. The lights kept blinking, stuff stopping....
Yesterday, I stood outside of the front door while the storms were rolling in. You know how when the lightening happens and you can count the seconds unitl the thunder to see how far the center of the storm is away? Well, the thunder would happen with the lightening. So, it was right over the house.
The lightening was coming its jagged path to the ground just beyond the surrounding trees. It was coming down about 100 yards from the house. At the same time, the thunder was echoing around the house and shaking the windows. The hair on my arms was standing up from the electricity in the air. I could feel the concusion off the thunder. It was truly amazing, and such an awesome feeling. You could literally feel the power of that storm.
Also, as soon as one lightening bolt was gone, another one appeared. There was not a break in the sound from the thunder. The windows were shaking in excitement, the hair on my arms was standing up applauding, and I could constantly feel the pats on my shoulders and face from the thunder. And it kept on going. The real awesomeness (word?) is that I timed this phenomena. It happened for over 5 minutes! Wow!
Man! It was great! Okay, I may not be the smartest person in the world since I was standing in the storm, but I did have part of the house over me. I'm still impressed!
After the storm
The temperature has dropped from the heat wave since the storm. So has the barometric pressure. However, the barometric pressure dance beat the crap out of me. I only saw the dark after the storm and I bowed to my heating pad. I prayed to die. But I survived. This morning, I feel like someone beat me up during yesterday and last night. I only remember the pain. What happened after the storm? My joints and muscles ache, and the migraine is tolerable. Yesterday, total oblivion was welcome, but only the temporary oblivion came.

The storms seems to be killing a lot of peoples connections I am finding.
I am glad your dad is feeling a little better.
Glad your dad is doing better.
Wow, nothing like a good storm to really make you feel the energy. I love to watch storms and have always wanted to go on one of those twister chasing rides
something I will probably never get to do but would be so awesome to do. Yes, I have seen twisters and I find them scary but at the same time there is something in them that attracts me. And you think you are crazy for liking to watch storms hehehe maybe I am to
