• Hips & Pins

  
  

  No surgery for Dad yet.  The orthopedic surgeon was booked up yesterday and wasn't able to get into to see Dad until later in the evening.  The surgeon's schedule is pretty full for today, but will be working Dad in to put a few pins in his hip.  This is supposed to be less invasive than the hip replacement, and it's all that Dad will need.  They are saying that it will happen around 12:30pm today.  I'm getting ready to go back to the hospital and sit around with my Dad.

  Dad has successfully had the surgery and several pins were put in his hip to close the breaks and aid in the healing.  He's still in a lot of pain, but it's healing pain now.  The physical therapist has already been to his room this afternoon and Dad has been on his feet (no weight on the "fixed" leg).
