Experience & Lessons
When you lose, don't lose the lesson. I really like, but yet dislike, that saying. I've lost lots of times, and there's been many lessons to learn. When I've been wise, I've learned from the losing. When I've not been wise, I've lost that same game again.
Experience is a hard teacher, but teaches lessons that are not soon forgotten. Like a lot of people, I don't like learning that way. And, like a lot of people, sometimes that's the best way that I learn.
Heat
My heat pump went out on Saturday. The house was bearable Saturday. But Sunday, this place got extremely hot. It was 92°F out side and 88° inside. It was time to open all the windows and get every fan out and working. We got it cooled to about 86° by the time it got dark. The outside temps then dropped to 69°F, so the house cooled down.
The capacitor (capacitator?) went out on the heat pump, which shut down the heat pump to protect it. I could have had it fixed Saturday night, but the price would have been about $100 more. So, it was wait until today to get it fixed. It was still over $198 total. Geemyknee!

Okay, maybe I'm just naive but I've never heard of a heat pump. We have air conditioners that keep the house cool. I guess it's the same thing?
